Borrowing Books

◎  Anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Suita city is eligible to borrow resources. (Proof of school or work is required.)
◎  Fill out an application form and bring it to the counter along with your official proof document for verification of your name and address (such as health insurance card, driver’s license, student ID card or foreign resident registration card.)
◎  Regarding the library card:
・You can use it at any city library or mobile book van in Suita city.
・Please tell us if you lose your library card, or if you change your name and/or address.
・The library card is valid for five years.
◎  Resouces such as books or magazines in libraries are important citizens’ assets. Please note that you have to pay for goods if you lose, ruin or write on them.

   You may return books, magazines, picture-story display materials, CDs, video tapes and DVDs to any city library or book van in the city.
◎  Please put books, magazines or picture-story display materials into the book drop outside of library hours.
◎  Please return CDs, videotapes, DVDs, or books borrowed from other libraries outside of Suita directly to the counter of the library from where you borrowed them during library hours. Please don’t put them in the book drop.
(Exception: You may put CDs, videotapes, DVDs in the book drop of　Senriyama-Saidera Library called “Chisato”.)

◎  You can reserve books or magazines on the Internet if you have your own password. (CDs, videotapes, cassettes and DVDs can not be reserved.)
◎  Books which Suita city libraries don’t have can be ordered from other libraries in Osaka or neighboring cities.
◎  Don’t hesitate to ask a librarian for help in finding any books, magazines or picture-story display materials you are looking for.

Using your Password

◎  You need to come to the library in person along with your library card and identification document (such as health insurance card, driver’s license or foreign resident registration card.)
◎  Primary age school children or younger children need their parent’s written consent.

◎　You can make reservations for books or magazines which the libraries have, on the Internet using your personal computer, cell-phone or user’s Internet terminal in libraries. (Please visit or call us to make reservations for books, magazines or new publications not in the library catalogs.)
◎　Cancellation of reservations is also possible.
◎　To change your reservation, please cancel your preference first and then make another one.
◎　We will let you know when your requested goods are available. Please register your e-mail address in advance if you prefer e-mail contact.
◎ You can extend borrowing period through internet or user’s terminal.

Other Services

◎  Suita city will give your baby a picture book hoping that he or she will grow up with a love of books and reading.
・A leaflet of the system will be sent to you from the health center along with the medical checkup notification for your baby.
・You can choose one out of five picture books.
・You can pick it up at your nearest city library or a book van.
・Please bring your maternity passbook along with you.
・Please pick it up while your baby is between the age of 4 month to 1 year.

◎　Sankusu Library lends out CDs, cassettes, videotapes and DVDs. You can preview CDs and videotapes.
◎　Esaka Library lends out CDs, videotapes and DVDs.
◎  Senriyama-Saidera Library called “Chisato” lends out CDs, videotapes and DVDs.

If any library items (books, magazines, CDs, videotapes, etc) are more than 14 days overdue, you are not allowed to borrow or reserve any others until you return them.
◎  You cannot borrow any item.
◎  You cannot reserve any item.
◎  You cannot borrow a reserved item even if you have a reservation.
◎  Any reserved items will be cancelled unless you return the overdue item in time. (one week after receiving the notification of the arrival of your reserved item).
◎  Please extend the loan period in advance if you cannot return the borrowed item by the deadline.
